February 2015 - New York Times Bestselling Author, J. Sterling

Some really, really good books!

Most of you know that I don't read anywhere near as much as I'd like to. The TBR (to-be-read) list on my Kindle has so many books, I'm not sure I could even get through them in this lifetime. As a writer, it's sometimes hard to find that balance between reading books that make you FEEL something, and not reading at all because you're focusing on your own writing.

I love reading stories that resonate with me... stories that make me feel like they could really happen off the pages... stories with heart.  Which is funny (or not) because that's exactly the kind of stories I like to write. So what does that really say about me?!  LOL

Three very distinct books stand out that I've read lately, and I just want to post about them here because I feel like they deserve that little extra bout of recognition. I want everyone to read these stories. I want everyone to fall in love the way I did and get lost in the pages of books that make you feel, give you hope, make you root for couples, make you laugh and make you cry. I know that we all have different styles, different tastes and preferences... these three are all examples of mine.

I hope you'll read them and love them as much as I did. At the very least, download the SAMPLE on Amazon and see if you're hooked. That's what I always do. If i'm not invested by the end of the sample, then I move on. Brutal, I know. lol  If you click on the book cover, or the title of the book, you'll be directed to the Amazon page.

Alright- here goes.  :)

I LITERALLY just finished Fisher's Light by Tara Sivec. It is crappy of me to tell you about this book because you can't even buy it yet, but it will be out soon. Like soon, soon, so if you have a Goodreads account, or you write down books you want to buy, I implore you to add this one to the list. I was hooked in the prologue and the story never stopped drawing me in. It was beautifully written, emotionally gut wrenching, and everything the characters went through- I was right there with them. I was all in from the second I started. Hell, it's done and i'm STILL all in.  ALL. IN.  This is a second chance love story. It's beautiful. It's sad. It's a must, freaking, read. I'm actually having a book hangover right now and I don't even want to read anything else because i'd like to just enjoy basking in this story for a little while longer..... I loved it that much.  :)

Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras is another second chance love story that was beautifully written. It was such a heartwarming story about love, loss, and relationships on all levels (family, friends, etc). I adored this book and only wish that the hearts she created were a real thing that I could buy and put in my office.  :)

The Pact by Karina Halle was a friends to lovers book that just sucked me in. The writing in this book gripped at my heart with it's simplistic emotions. I connected with the words that were said and the way they were said. I loved so much about this story- it made me FEEEEEL- right in my guts. Gotta love that.

Like I said, go download the sample and read all these amazing stories!  I hope you love them as much as I have!  :)

10 Years Later Teaser #2

You met Dalton the other day from my upcoming novel, 10 Years Later...
Now meet Cammie... and her crazy, girly brain. I am loving these characters. Dalton's best friend Tucker and Cammie's best friend Kristy are hilarious.  This story.  <3

"For whatever reason, Dalton Thomas didn’t have any social media pages and I’d be lying if I told you it didn’t drive me absolutely batshit crazy at times over the last ten years. I had no idea where he was, what he was doing, if he was married (please don’t be married), or what he looked li...ke anymore. And trust me, it wasn’t for lack of trying. Because I tried…I tried to find him all over cyber land. I convinced myself mostly that it was to satisfy my perfectly natural curiosity, but I knew the truth lied somewhere deeper than I cared to admit. The more I tried to find him and failed, the more obsessed I became. But none of it mattered, because I always came up empty handed.
Dalton Thomas refused to be found."

10 Years Later Teaser

Busy busy busy!  A writer can't make a living writing if she doesn't WRITE!  So... I'm trying to hit some self imposed deadlines and I. WILL. MAKE. IT!  :)

I'm really super excited about the book i'm working on right now. It's giving me all the feels. I haven't been THIS excited for a book since I wrote The Perfect Game! I'm loving it so far. The two main characters are awesome and i'm enjoying getting to know them better the more I write. :)

Anyway, I wanted to introduce you to Dalton Thomas. He's hot. I love him. At least I do right now.. it's still early in the book. lol

Dalton:
"I remember the day she stopped talking to me, the look in her eyes letting me know that I had done something so completely unforgivable. I don’t even know what the hell I did to make her so upset, but I planned on finding out. I might have been a stupid young kid back then who allowed her to walk away, but I was a man now. And a man rights his wrongs, admits where he screwed up and goes after what he wants.
And what I want is her."

...
10 Years Later... coming soon

Get excited!  Cause I sure am!  :)
